CALL FOR ARTISTS for CELEBRATE WESTWOOD's

5th ANNUAL ARTS IN THE PARK

On Saturday, June 7 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Celebrate Westwood’s ArtsHub will present the fifth annual Art in the Park at Veterans Memorial Park. This year's free, public event is co-hosted by the Westwood Board of Health to highlight the synergy of creative pursuits and mind-body wellness. In addition to live acoustic music and more than two dozen local photographers, illustrators, painters, crafters, and other creatives from Westwood and neighboring towns, this year’s event will feature interactive and informational stations led by health and wellness professionals from the greater Pascack Valley.

Local artists or musicians interested in participating are encouraged to fill out an application at https://tinyurl.com/2025ArtintheParkWestwood

and health and wellness professionals should email westwoodhealthfestival@gmail.com or call the Westwood Department of Health at 201-664-7100 x129 before April 30. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Artists are permitted to sell their work in the park after submitting a $20 registration fee. Slots are limited and preference will be given to local residents of all ages and experience levels, however artists from the greater region are welcome. All participants will be featured on the organizers' website and in social media posts.

Arts in the Park is a free, open air event designed to celebrate creativity in the heart of Westwood. In addition to exploring fine arts and unique crafts, textiles, and mixed media displays, attendees will have the opportunity to create their own art with the Celebrate Westwood ArtsHub committee which will be bringing back its popular, oversized looms to continue the community weaving project.

New this year, attendees of all ages are invited to practice their creativity in two fun ways: help build a community mural by coloring a tile, or make your mark with sidewalk chalk. Our attendees will also be introduced to many local businesses and services that aid in creating a healthy, thriving community through preventative practices and education around healthy aging, fitness programs, mental health services and more!

Since 2018, Celebrate Westwood has launched community events and programming including Art in the Park, Music on the Avenues, Westwood-Wide Garage Sales, WestwoodFest, and the Early New Year's Eve Ball Drop. Its BIZhub subcommittee supports local commercial activity through networking and marketing opportunities while ArtsHub is responsible for the creation of joyful projects throughout the community such as the annual Gingerbread House Contest and installations like the 2023 Yarn Bomb.

The Westwood Board of Health’s mission is to ensure the health and wellbeing of our community and to promote awareness of health issues through education & innovation. In 2024, the Board of Health Hosted its inaugural Health Fair and will look to build on last year’s success and shared education through the partnership with Arts in the Park.
